I love this phone – works perfect for me. – I had a J7 Sky Pro for a couple years and the battery expanded and popped the back off – and it was time to buy another phone. I bought a Samsung S9 for only $350 from Total Wireless website. I disliked everything about the phone but tried the S9 phone for a month since I had spent $350 plus tax on it. I really tried but could not stand the S9. I didn’t like that it was so narrow (vertical). The phone had a mind of its own and it seems everything I wanted to do was so complex it just wasted my time and frustrated me. I decided to bite the bullet on spending the $400 and bought the J7 Crown for $45 on Amazon and I have loved it since I got it in August 2020. It is better than I expected, has some pluses over the Sky Pro but doesn’t frustrate me like the S9. I truly love this Crown. The only thing that drives me nuts about these Samsung phones are the predictive texting – and it’s all or nothing with predictive texting. I like the alternative words or spelling help above the keyboard but I do NOT LIKE that the phone inserts words or partial words after you have typed the word you want. That drives me nuts. I cannot get it to stop inserting words or alpha characters without turning everything off – no spell checks or ability to click the words below so you don’t have to type the whole word… Other than the predictive texting, I really really like this phone. It has a good camera. I hope to use this phone for years – it easily does everything I want it to do.

Nice phone for the money. – I bought this for the wife to replace her extremely beat up LG Stylo2. We’ve been fans of LG products for a long time and have had pretty good luck with them but figured Samsung is popular for a reason and the price was definitely right so we figured we’d give this Samsung Galaxy J7 a try. The camera seems quite good and the audio quality from the microphone on this phone is better than it was on her old LG. Of course, this is a newer model so, in fairness to LG, that is kind of an “apples to oranges” comparison. So far my wife likes the phone but she is a little unhappy with the ringtones that came with it. Hopefully we can figure out how to find and add a couple of new tones that she likes better. Volume through the speaker is quite good and clarity of that audio is also pretty decent. It’s too early to comment on battery life but it seems to stay charged for a reasonable amount of time so far. Touch screen is a little too sensitive and extends so close to the edge of the enclosure that a lot of unintentional inputs occur. Hopefully the screen protector and case that are currently on their way will help with that. The phone we bought is “locked” to Total Wireless, which is fine since I wanted to switch her over from Boost to Total so I could upgrade my single line plan to a family two-phone plan and add her on, that’s fine. By doing that, she gets way more high speed data each month and we pay about the same now as we did previously for two single line plans with different carriers. We’re both happy with this purchase so far.
